About AI Image Converter
A free, browser-based image converter built around one idea: your files belong on your device. This page explains why the tool exists, how it works, and the principles it is held to.
Why This Tool Exists
Converting an image is a simple job: read the file, decode it, re-encode it in another format, and hand it back. Yet most online converters turn that simple job into an upload-and-wait experience. Your file travels to somebody else’s server, sits in a queue, gets processed alongside everyone else’s, and you are left hoping it is deleted afterwards.
This site takes the opposite approach. The conversion runs locally in your browser, on your own device. There is nothing to upload, because there is no upload endpoint. The tool works the same way whether you are converting a screenshot, a photo for a form, or a client file you would rather not send to a stranger’s server.
It was also built to be honest, especially about Adobe Illustrator files. Browsers cannot decode the .ai format — it is a proprietary vector format with no browser support — so direct conversion is simply not possible. Many tools pretend otherwise and hand back a broken or wrong file. This tool says plainly that it cannot decode .ai files and walks you through a reliable export-and-convert workflow instead of faking a result.
How It Works, Briefly
When you choose a file, the page reads it with the browser’s File API and decodes it using your browser’s own image decoders. The decoded image is drawn to a canvas and re-encoded with toBlob in the format you picked — PNG, JPG or WebP. Every step happens inside your browser; no network request ever carries your image anywhere. The How It Works page covers the full process, including validation and the honest handling of unsupported files.
Our Principles
Four commitments shape every decision on this site, from the code to the wording on these pages.
- Privacy by architecture — files are processed locally, so privacy comes from how the tool is built, not from a promise bolted on afterwards
- Honesty over hype — no fake conversions, no invented statistics or testimonials; if something is not possible in your browser, the tool says so
- Accessibility — full keyboard operation, screen-reader announcements and sufficient contrast, because a tool that only works with a mouse is not finished
- Speed and lightness — system fonts, no trackers, no ad scripts, and pages that stay small enough to load fast on any connection
- Free and ungated — no accounts, no watermarks and no conversion limits hiding behind an upgrade wall
What We Are Not
This is not a company with offices, a sales team or a support hotline, and there is no address or registration number to publish because none exists. It is not affiliated with Adobe Inc., and nothing here is endorsed by Adobe. It is a free web tool, maintained as a public utility, that does one job — converting images locally in your browser — and explains itself plainly.
Try it for yourself
Drop in a PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG or GIF and watch it convert — without the file ever leaving your device.
